I know it's been a while since I've blogged. Let's just say life has gotten busier, but my goal is to blog at least once a month. Pray that I keep that promise :)

Today's blog post is kinda fun for me. As a personal shopper when a client reaches out for a completely new wardrobe service, closet basics are one of the first things that I tackle!

It's important, it's needed, and it makes putting outfits together a lot more simple. If you don't have any of these items, I highly recommend using this as your checklist!

Basic/Graphic White T-shirt

Everybody needs a basic t-shirt in their closet. It's literally a closet staple that goes with anything. It's simple, classic, and it's versatile! I love wearing mine with a pair of skinny jeans, throwing a blazer over it, or tucking it in my high-waist skirt/ pants.

Skinny Jeans

You can never go wrong with a pair of skinny jeans! I like to make sure that I have at least a dark wash and a light wash pair in my closet! Skinny jeans are classics and getting the right pair is also very important. My favorite places to get great quality skinny jeans are Abercrombie, Topshop, Nordstrom Rack, and Asos!

Statement Blazer

Nope, I'm not saying have a plain old black blazer - sorry it's 2018 and that's boring! I tell my clients all the time, you gotta have a little fun with your wardrobe pieces. Gingham blazers are an example of a cute and fun blazer to have in your wardrobe. I prefer my blazers to be a bit oversized so that I can fold up the sleeves to add that extra vibe to it. Also consider adding bold blazer colors, like yellow, red, or even Cobalt blue. Blazers are a great diverse piece that can transition from a daytime look to a night time look.

Denim Jacket

This is one of my go-to favorite closet items. Denim jackets can tradition through all the seasons and still remain a classic. I prefer wearing mine to dress down my looks. If you're like me, try to have a medium to light wash color in your closet because it stands out more with your look. I personally have a plain and distress denim jacket only because I love having options and I love a good pair of distress item!

Boyfriend Jeans

Everyone knows my love for denim. However, I love a really really good pair of boyfriend jeans! I feel like I never have enough * I do* lol. They are comfy, cute, and fun! It can easily be dressed up or down depending on the look you are going for. I love wearing mine with a graphic tee and a blazer with a cute pair of loafers or heels! Either way and depending on your preference it's the perfect wardrobe item for everyone to have.

Classic Pumps

When I say classic, I'm referring to the go-to pumps that every girl gotta have! The most common pair you should have is a pair of black pumps. However, for a more diverse closet, I also recommend having a leopard print pump, nude or red pumps! Those are the colors I reach for the most, and any Stylist will tell you that you should have at least one pair in your closet.

Heeled Sandals

In addition to having pumps, Heeled Sandals are just as important. Who likes having their feet covered up the whole entire year? Sandals are great for adding a more sexy vibe to an outfit, but I also love how it looks on the feet. My favorite kinds are " barely there" sandals. I like to pair mine with boyfriend jeans, skirts, and dresses!

Loafers/Flats

I am a lover of flats & loafers!!! You have to admit that they are comfy, but I love the different ways they can be worn. My favorite thing about them is the fact that they all come in different styles. Pointy, chunky, high, low, you name it! It's definitely a must-have item for your closet!

Statement Bag

Every girl has a basic bag that we literally take everywhere for everything. However, you gotta have a really cute statement bag that takes your outfit to the next level! It can be any kind of bag, but make sure it's unique in color, shape, or pattern if you are really trying to make a statement.

Fedora Hat

I just want to say I Love Fedora hats! If I could wear them every day I would! They are the perfect accessory if you want to add some fun and cuteness to your entire look!
