Classic, Re-wearable and Trendy Items to Have in Your Closet this Fall

 So, lately I've been getting a-lot of questions from people on what to buy this season. Now that Fall actually decided to show-up, it's time to pull out those Fall/Winter items. That being said, I thought I'd do a post on some Must-Haves that you can wear this season.

With so many trends this Fall, it's easy to feel like you have nothing to wear and everything in your closet  starts  to looks out of season. My shopping mentality has changed a-lot this year. I'm purchasing more wearable and classic pieces that I can always wear. I tell my clients all the time, if saving is truly your end goal when shopping , then get pieces that are re-usable, and trendy.

Sweaters

If there is one thing I know that will NEVER go out of style, it's a good comfy sweater! As it gets colder, I find myself reaching for a sweater more than an actual blouse. They are warm and also a great statement piece for any outfit. I love bright colors , oversized , and embellished sweaters. Sweaters also go well with almost any bottom; jeans , leggings , skirts, you name it! It's definitely something to always have in your closet for the season.

Jeans

I know , I know , you guys are probably like " Kemi is OBSESSED with jeans! ". Well, that's not a lie lol. I love jeans because they are one of the most diverse items in my closet. I can wear them through all seasons and there are so many different styles and cuts. However during the fall, I reach more for my boyfriend, ankle, and high-rise jeans. My favorite way to style jeans during the Fall/Winter season is with a cute pair of ankle boots , tucked in long white button up, and a cute statement jacket!

So, don't fold those boyfriend jeans or ankle jeans away just yet! They are perfect for styling this season.

Coats

Coats are the most repeated items for the Fall/Winter and it's not just because it's cold, but  they make for a great outfit statement. Your outfit can be as bland as can be , but having a coat that is eye catching will have you looking like a fashionista! This season it's all about fur and texture. We are seeing a-lot of the "teddy bear " like material that everyone is currently loving at the moment.

Boots

What's Fall without a cute pair of over the knee boots and ankle booties?! If you are looking to diversify your wardrobe and you have the budget to do so, I recommend getting the heeled version and flat version of the ankle boot and over the knee boots. Whenever I want a dressy vibe, I reach for my stiletto booties and it has me feeling all kinds of cute !

Skirts

Skirts!! I'll be honest with you guys, I wasn't a fan of skirts until last season. That's one thing I love about fashion, you can always find the beauty in things. Skirts have definitely become edgier. This year was all about slits and patterns and its amazing how its still transitioning into the next season. My favorite investment this year was a pleated skirt and an asymmetrical skirt that I got from Mango. Both super transitional and would look great with high boots or booties. For a cute look, I would pair a cute knit sweater with the pleated skirt and tuck it in. Then, put some cute boots or booties, and you have a look! When the weather warms up , you can tuck a cute white T-shirt with the same skirt and pair it with some cute heeled sandals! .....Look at that , thats two looks from one skirt.
