5 Shopping Tips to Help you Slay & Save this Fall

Hi Guys

So, you all know my favorite season is soon approaching. If you guessed it right it's FALL! I LOVE FALL. Why? Simply because of the fashion and the fact that I am not a fan of summer.

I've been stalking all my favorite stores and reading all the articles and blogs about the upcoming Fall season. This season, it's all about prints and bold color,  but that's for another blog post!

Let's get down to the actual reason for this post. So, I thought that I'd share a few shopping tips and tricks to use so that you can slay and save this season.

When it comes my wardrobe, I love great pieces. I  also love to save, but i'll admit that I'm willing pay regular price for pieces I know I won't see again.

I love when people ask me where I get an item from. My response is " Girl it was only $20! ". The look that they give me is priceless!

So, how do I get dope pieces for a great price?  Continue reading to find out!

1. Take Inventory of Your Closet

What's the point of shopping for Fall if you're just going to buy the same items anyway? I never understood that, and to be honest, that was me at one point in time. My closet was very repetitive. I had 3 or 4 of the same items and wondered why I couldn't find anything to wear.

As a personal shopper, before I do a huge shopping haul for my clients, I always create a list of items that they currently have and need to shop for.

One, it save tons of time! Two, it saves tons of money. I can target specific items rather than just shopping for random things. Yes, it may seem like work (* that's why you can hire me * ) , but it's going to be less stressful for you and your pockets.

2. Shop for Fall Items During the Summer Sales

This is my secret of all secrets to getting my amazing deals! During the summer everyone is getting those cute pair of shorts or perfect sundress for their vacation in Greece. Meanwhile, if you simply click on Fall items like coats and sweaters, you will find that they are marked down fairly cheap.

When I say cheap, I mean that cute olive colored trench coat was $99 and now it's $29.99.

Why are those items marked so low? Think about it, although it's summer where you currently live, it's also chilly in another state or country. So most people won't pay attention to those items during the summer sale. However, that's when you get the BEST deals.

Don't just search for items in the current season, shop ahead; you'll save a lot of money when the Fall season actually approaches.

3. Price Match is your Best friend

In the fashion world , retailers are always competing for customers and they want to keep your loyalty. Price match has been a game changer for me.

For example, stores like Nordstrom , Lord and Taylor, and Bloomingdales sell similar name brand items. I try to avoid paying full price as much as I can, so every time I see an item, I normally google it to see which retailer has it for the cheapest price.

Call customer service and tell them that you saw xyz for xyz price. Now, if that store is their competitor, 99% of the time they will match the price because they want you as a customer.

This is great for high priced items that you love, but if you see your favorite pair of designer boots cheaper somewhere else, WHY NOT take advantage of it?!

4. Sign up for Newsletters

You know how you first enter a website and that little popup comes up asking you to sign up for their newsletters? Yes, that one! DO NOT EXIT THEM. Guys, I know they are annoying and some companies do get very spammy, but imagine clicking away money.

Almost all retail sites give you an automatic discount code simply for signing up for their newsletter. Something like " Join us today and get 25% off your first purchase". Umm hello, lemme get that code real quick!

Not only that, you will be added to the list of people who are first to receive alerts about sales and promotions.

5. Download Shoptagr

" What in the world is Shoptagr? " Well, I'll break it down for you.

Shoptagr can notify you on ANY changes relating to that item. You can set an alert on price changes , sale alerts and restocked items !

During the  Zara sale this year there were items that were sold out in my size I really wanted. However, even though they were sold out, I used the app to set a notification for restock and price changes. I'm happy to say that I've gotten most of my items this year and for even cheaper prices than when the sale initially started!

I recommend this app to everyone. I know the frustration of seeing "sold out" on your favorite item. Shoptagr has really been a game changer. Any app that saves me money in anyway, I'm all for it!

Welp, those are my top tips! I hope you enjoyed them. I know the upcoming season is fast approaching. If you are in need of a major wardrobe change, check out my services :)
